Why nobody comments posts on my blog?

Dear Santa,

For this Christmas I would like to get increased traffic to my blog, many comments and a lot of clients who are willing to pay ridiculously big amounts of papers with Queen Elisabeth II.
I’ve been nice to animals, good to people and working hard for my success.
Thank you Santa,
X

If you still believe in Santa Claus, probably you’ve already considered this option. But there are different solutions and explanations why nobody comments posts on your blog.

Everything in a right time

You can’t expect comments on the blog with little or no traffic. Practice your writing & style while getting popular. Don’t forget about promoting yourself on social networks as well as in offline ways.

I, Spy

People actually may read your posts and you can have some/any traffic on your website but they just simply don’t comment your posts or contact you because you don’t encourage them to do so.
If you are writing your posts in purely theoretical way, there is often nothing else to add.
Help starting discussion about the subject, ask people questions, ask about their experience and similar situations.
A good idea is to finish the post with few simple open questions like for ex.:

What do you think about XYZ? Have you ever experienced similar situation?

Maybe you just live in your own world

Very possible that subject you write about is little known and nobody ever heard about it. The best idea is to write about more popular topics related to your interest and then, while getting more popular, introduce some of your out-of-box opinions. Try to make people stop, think and challenge their own viewpoint. Stimulate discussion.

Boooring

Be critical for your knowledge and style. Maybe no one wants to listen to you – you are simply boring. Write about new things, breakthrough! Try to develop some style people can actually enjoy. Otherwise – forget about blogging.

Errors in content

As Seneka once said ‘Humanum est errare’ (To err is human) but do not think that you can freely write with grammar and style mistakes and people will still like you. If you want to be seen as an professional expert – become one. Carefully check all the content you produce, reread it and then submit it.
Remember: Quality > quantity.

And you? How long did it take you to become popular, when people started commenting your posts? How did you make it? Go on. Share your opinion!
