So you have your business running, you have some clients and you want to develop better form of communication with your clients. Well done. It’s high time to thing about starting a company blog. Each company is different – its employees, customers and culture. This is why you should show that your company has to offer something which other companies don’t. There are many advantages of having a company’s blog.

Here are some of them:

  • it helps developing long-term relationships with your clients
  • cost you relatively nothing
  • it’s a great form of promotion
  • it’s a quick and up-to-date form of informing your clients about news in the company

It’s a long term commitment.

Like most marketing efforts, writing a qualitative blog is not a piece of cake. Blogging is like a long-term investment. You start with small steps, knowing that your first visitors will be your loyal customers. But if you present qualitative information (you seem to be an expert in a certain field) they may recommend your blog to their friends. And this word-of-mouth marketing technique will help you reaching new potential clients. Always write FOR your customers, do not write to praise your company only. There is no exception from the rule: Customer first.

Traffic doesn’t come to you in a Christmas gift

Nor it will be created out of nothing. You have to work for it. (Or just pay Google to rank your website in sponsored section) If you are big well-known company, you have easier job to do. However, if you just created website for your company, people do not know about you… yet. You have to be aware that blogging should be your habit, giving your customers/clients joy when reading your blog. So.. write, write and once more write. If you write on a regular basis, your customers will know that whenever they visit your website, they won’t waste their time. (You might thing about providing RSS feed. )

Your competitors will read it

It’s not a particularly bad thing. So what if they do it? It only shows that you are the leader in the field. If you announce some innovation – you did it, not them. When all they can do is following your lead – you are in the winning position (worse if you have a spy in your company). The better quality content you provide on your blog, the harder will be for your competition to win over your readers.

Write about your company and everything related to it

If you feel like you want to share your views that east side is the best… don’t do it on your company’s blog. Let it stay professional, providing information related to the business your company is in. Blog is a perfect place to present new products, ideas. Asking your customers for their opinion is one of the most important thing to keep your business running. Ever heard about meeting customer expectations?

It’s not you. It’s me.

This time, you should know that in the end it’s you who have the stronger voice. Only you can make the difference for company. Blogging and presenting your company in transparent, friendly way will gain you followers. Do not create blog only for discussion between your visitors. Take the control, write about the subject your company would like to be heard of. Ask clients about risky products you want to launch, ask about their opinion; will they use it? would they change anything in it? Try to create win-win situation, give your customers attention and in the same time use their time and voice to make your business better.
